A former foe of Max Holloway believes “Blessed” will get the job done against Charles Oliveira at UFC 326.
Holloway and Oliveira are set to clash a second time on Saturday inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The two collided back in 2015, but the bout ended quickly after Oliveira suffered a micro-tear in his esophagus. Fast forward to 2026 and both men have amassed Hall of Fame-worthy career.
One fighter who is quite familiar with Holloway is the reigning UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski. “The Great” scored three victories over Holloway in their 145-pound title fights. Volkanovski updated a new video on his YouTube channel detailing his prediction for the UFC 326 headliner (via MMAJunkie).
“I think Max Holloway can definitely start to land, get in position where Charles is more shelling up, trying to grab, not really working, and you see Max starting to get the finish, and the ref’s just sort of stopping it,” Volkanovski said. “Max is the type of guy that can put that type of pace on you. Charles is going to be dangerous enough to put him in danger, but only thing is, you can’t do that for five rounds with someone like Max. It’s either Charles lands and gets a finish early, or he gets finished in the later rounds. I’m leaning more towards a finish than a decision for Max.”
Volkanovski thinks the path for Holloway is obvious if he can pull off the win over someone as decorated as Oliveira.
“I think he fights for a belt,” Volkanovski said. “I think that’s clear.”
