WWE NXT Audience Drops on SYFY Against Olympics

The ratings for NXT predictably dropped this week, as it moved to SYFY and went against the Olympics. Tuesday night’s show drew a 0.12 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic and 520,000 viewers per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics. Those numbers are down 40% and 27% respectively from last week’s 0.2 demo rating and 709,000 viewers.

It is important to note the two big factors in that first sentence. Like all wrestling (and non-wrestling) shows, NXT is up against the Olympics for the next two weeks. Tuesday’s broadcast on NBC drew a 3.2 demo rating and 13.6 million viewers. In addition, the move to SYFY likely hurt the show’s numbers as well. Either way, the demo rating tied the USA Network’s low point of a 0.12 on both December 30th, 2020 and February 10th of this year.

NXT is averaging a 0.17 demo rating and 681,000 viewers in 2021, down from a 0.19 and 690,000 for the same time period in 2020.
