Welcome to the latest edition of Missed Fists where Jed Meshew and Alexander K. Lee shine a light on fights from across the globe that may have been overlooked in these hectic times where it seems like theres an MMA show every other day.
We need to step up our game when it comes to showcasing womens MMA prospects, so this week were focusing on a Saturday night that was apparently more than alright for female fighting.
Special thanks to womens combat sports devotee MarQ for helping out with this weeks suggestions!
Karolline Rosa vs. Tamara Leorde
AL: We start off with a womens featherweight bout between promising Brazilian prospect Karolline Rosa (also referred to as just Karol) and Tamara Leorde, which took place at Favela Kombat 29 in Rio de Janeiro.
This was Karols 11th pro bout, Leordes second, and the disparity was obvious. Leorde is tough, but this was pretty much a highlight reel for Karol. She pieced her up standing in round one, capped off round two with a big slam, and then jiu-jitsud Leorde to death in round three.
The referee had to wave this one off to save the massive hematoma on Leordes head from getting any worse.

Following an extended round 3 ground clinic, Karol Rosa (9-2, #32 World Women's 145) earned the TKO stoppage when her strikes fractured Tamara Leorde's orbital and caused a wicked hematoma. Rosa took home a featherweight title belt for her work. pic.twitter.com/rXzooCXBtZ
