The website TheWrap.com is reporting that All Elite
Wrestling is about to land on an old network foe of WWE and
one half of the Monday night warsTNT!
There are rumors that the company will be at WarnerMedia
Entertainments television upfront where the network will
announce its newest shows for the Fall and present them to
potential advertisers. People with knowledge of negotiations
between the two parties say that the agreement has not been
signed yet and the deal is pretty complex and while
presenting AEW at the upfront next month would be the ideal
scenario, its not a definite case just yet.
The deal in question consists of a live weekly episode on
TNT plus a mutliplatform existence, possibly on the B/R
Live subscription service as well. Representatives from both
companies declined to comment on the rumors.
TNT aired WCW Nitro from its inception in 1995 through its
final episode in 2001. With Raw on Mondays and Smackdown on
Fridays, its probably a fair bet to say that AEW would not
be airing on any of those two days to avoid direct
competition with WWE.
