Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that the AEW Revolution pay-per-view is being moved from February 27 to March 7. Originally set for a Saturday, this would be the first AEW show on a Sunday night.
The move was done because on February 27 theres a Canelo Alvarez boxing pay-per-view which the company didnt want to go head-to-head with. AEW didnt fare well when it went head to head with another sports pay-per-view in 2019, leading to the lowest buys for Full Gear that year.
Meltzer also noted that the March 6 date, a Saturday, was also floated but theres UFC 259 on pay-per-view that day too so the decision was taken to book the first Sunday pay- per-view show on March 7.
AEW has yet to officially announce the new date. Revolution will see Sting get back in action for the first time since 2015.
