By no showing two press conferences in the run of a week, Nick Diaz has no one to blame but himself for losing his spot and title shot in the main event of UFC 137 against Georges St. Pierre and UFC President Dana White explained his reasons for removing Diaz after making the announcement that Carlos Condit would be stepping in to replace him:
"This kid_s not gonna show up in Vegas, not gonna show up in Toronto, what else isn_t he going to show up for? Is he not gonna show up for the fight? I_m not gonna risk that. I don_t think Nick Diaz is gonna try and get a hold of me. If Nick Diaz wanted to get a hold of me, he should have got a hold of me in the last couple of days. I don_t see Nick Diaz calling me up and saying _Hey listen, I_m sorry, gimme the fight back._ That_s just not Nick Diaz. I_m done. I would never accept his word again."
