Tim Credeur was tapped to collide with the durable Brad Tavares at UFC 137, but as fate goes, the injury bug has struck, and Tim’s been forced to withdraw. Tavares now has just over three weeks to prepare for a replacement opponent, and that may be a challenge, as Brad will meet UFC newcomer Dustin Jacoby.
Brad Tavares (7-1) has offered forth some quality showings inside the octagon, toppling both Phil Baroni and Seth Baczynski, though he ran into a roadblock when he met Aaron Simpson at UFC 132; Simpson managed to utilize the wall-and-stall technique to take a decision victory over the tough Hawaiian.
Jacoby in contrast sports an unbeaten record of 6-0. While he’s yet to topple ay form of elite competition, he has managed to finish all six of his opponents inside the distance.
UFC 137 takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will be headlined by a welterweight title confrontation between reigning champion Georges St. Pierre and Carlos Condit.
