Former UFC heavyweight, Todd Duffee (6-2), who’s fallen on tough times as of late, has been forced to withdraw from a scheduled bout with Nick Gaston at Saturday’s “DREAM: Japan GP Final” event.
At this point Duffee’s injury has not been disclosed, though ESPN has confirmed that the hulking American has indeed been shelved.
Duffee’s original opponent Nick Gaston will no longer compete on the card either, due to the last minute changes.
Duffee last competed at K-1 - Dynamite!! Power of Courage 2010, where he was knocked unconscious in just 19 seconds by top 10 ranked heavyweight, Alistair Overeem.
"DREAM: Japan GP Final" takes place this Saturday, July 16, at Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo and features the talents of Gegard Mousasi, Hiroyuki Takaya, Tatsuya Kawajiri, Drew Fickett, Marius Zaromskis and Hayato Sakurai.
