Sakuraba Isn't Done Yet: Gracie Hunter Tapped For DREAM 17

If you were under the impression that Kazushi Sakuraba’s (26-15-1-2) career had come to a close, you were mistaken. The famed “Gracie Hunter†has just been tapped to take part in the upcoming DREAM 17; he’ll collide with unbeaten Brazilian prospect, Yan Cabral (9-0) in a featured welterweight scrap.
Sakuraba rose to prominence in the late 1990’s when he began defeating members of the legendary Gracie family. His storied career is made up over 40 bouts, some incredible wins and a reputation as one of the sports toughest competitors. As of late, the 42 year old Japanese superstar has certainly lost a step: he’s picked up just two victories in his last six outings.
Cabral clearly lacks the experience that Sakuraba boasts. With just nine professional bouts on his ledger, Yan has yet to face an opponent as seasoned as Kazushi. That said, he’s managed to submit all nine of his foes.
Check out the DREAM 17 card as it now stands:
-Antonio Banuelos vs. Hideo Tokoro (bantamweight grand-prix quarterfinal)
