Vitor Vianna, who is perhaps best known as the head jiu-jitsu instructor at Wand Fight Team has officially signed a contract to compete for Bellator Fighting Championships. The 12 bout veteran (10-1-1) is expected to debut this summer.
Vianna currently rides a three fight win streak, and hasn’t lost since suffering a broken arm during a match with current UFC light heavyweight contender Thiago Silva in November of 2006.
The jiu-jitsu ace has finished eight of his ten career victims, and holds noteworthy victories over Danilo Pereira and Aaron Brink; a veteran of the smaller stage, he has competed for MMA Xplosion as well as Fury FC.
There’s been no official word on precisely when or who Vianna will fight, but with a roster that bolsters the likes of Hector Lombard, Alexander Shlemenko, and Jared Hess, there are plenty of challenges awaiting the dangerous grappler. Given the fact that Bellator has hosted anywhere from 10 to 20 plus events a year, we’ll likely see Vianna make his debut within the next two months.
