“The Ultimate Fighter” season 7 winner, Amir Sadollah (4-2) will not meet season 9 winner, James Wilks (7-4) as initially reported. Wilks, who represented Team UK during his successful stint on the Spike reality show, has withdrawn from the planned March 26th meeting, citing an injury as his reasoning behind the withdrawal.
Replacing Wilks will be fellow “TUF” season 9 participant, DaMarques Johnson (12-8) – who watched his hopes of becoming a “TUF” winner crumble when James Wilks stopped him with a rear naked choke in the first round of their season 9 finale clash. Johnson has looked solid since that bout, compiling a 3-1 record under the UFC banner.
The bout will mark the first of 2011 for Sadollah, who’s put together a 4-2 record for the promotion exclusively. Wins over the heavy handed and well-traveled Phil Baroni, International Fight League standout Brad Blackburn and C.B. Dollaway highlight Sadollah’s résumé.
