Video: Fowlkes concerned the UFC's 'crappy' cards aren't always going to be surprising hits
Well what do you know? It turns out UFC 177 might have actually been worth the cost of the pay-per-view. But does that mean every so-called “crappy” card will ultimately deliver on entertainment?
It’s become a common mantra for the UFC when one of their event lineups is heavily criticized. “Those are the cards that always deliver,” the saying goes. And on Saturday night, at least, that claim held true. But can it always? And has it really always been the way in the past?
Ben Fowlkes admits he enjoyed watching UFC 177, but he believes the promotion would be well-served not to rely on fighters always outperforming the expectations if the UFC wants to continue its growth in the increasingly clouded sports market.
