MACAU – Today’s UFC Fight Night 48 event drew an announced attendance of 7,022, which UFC executives classified as a sellout.
UFC President Dana White announced the tally in the post-event press conference.
As with past Macau shows, a live-gate figure wasn’t disclosed.
UFC Fight Night 48 took place at The Venetian Macao’s CotaiArena in Macau. The event, which saw Michael Bisping score a fourth-round TKO victory over fellow middleweight Cung Le in the headliner, streamed on UFC Fight Pass.
The UFC’s all-time attendance marks at CotaiArena include:
- UFC on FUEL TV 6 (November 2012): 8,415 attendance
- UFC Fight Night 48 (August 2014): 7,022
- TUF China Finale (March 2014): 6,000
Following the event, White said the organization will return to Macau, and bigger shows with more relevant names are likely to be part of the lineup. Macau events will accompany the organization’s plans to eventually host shows in mainland China, as well. For more on UFC Fight Night 48, stay tuned to the UFC Events section of the site.
