CANADA: Canadian Wrestling's Elite helps former area referee

Thank you for the William Rockwell Contributions.
A big thank you to everyone who came together in a very short period of time to help our friend and former Winnipeg wrestling referee William "Rocky" Rockwell.
CWE fans from across Canada and many wrestlers from our own locker room jumped at the opportunity to help a friend a need after reading his unfortunate story and circumstance in last week's Winnipeg Free Press.
Earlier this afternoon I dropped off nearly $300 in cash and an incredible amount of food donations in a surprise visit to Rocky at the West Broadway Community Ministry, a place he visits on a near daily basis.
As surprised as Rocky was to see CWE referee Michael Draven and myself he then went on to surprise not only us but the ministry, and the large crowd of people at the ministry enjoying a complimentary lunch by donating his food to the ministry so not only him but all the others in need who visit the ministry could partake in the contribution.
The always humble and good hearted Rocky proclaimed that "the West Broadway Community Broadway Ministry helped me when I was in need and I'd like to help others".
Not realizing just how many people of low to no income depended on the ministry for their daily nutrition I wanted to be able to do something for the others as well and told one of the directors of the ministry to get in touch with me as I'd like to offer some complimentary tickets to an upcoming event of ours to give them a night out and some entertainment they other wise may not be able to afford.
Much to my surprise there was another former member of our wrestling fraternity there by the name of Jackie Youngblood. Jackie was around when I first started wrestling and very visibly battling some demons during the tail end of his wrestling career. Jackie was in great spirits, looked great, and proudly declared he was on month two of being completely clean and sober and that he often finds himself at the ministry.
Before Rocky's situation came to public light I was unaware of this organization and after today was blown away by the good they were doing for so many people on a daily basis in need. Just because we've made our contribution to Rocky it doesn't need to end there. Their organization could constantly use different resources whether it be money, food, or other essentials so feel free to lend a hand to a great cause if or when you ever can.
The West Broadway Community Ministry is located right on the corner of Broadway and Furby and can be reached via telephone at 204-774-2773.
