Yuji Nagata wins GHC Heavyweight Title; Devitt wants CM Punk in Bullet Club
Yuji Nagata is the new GHC Heavyweight Champion! The New Japan star has tried unsuccessfully to win NOAH’s biggest prize in the past, but defeated Takeshi Morishima the other day to win his first singles title since holding the ZERO1 Heavyweight Title from 2008 to 2009 (he last held the IWGP Heavyweight Title in 2007).
Nagata has been on the periphery in New Japan for a while now, but like third generation cohort Satoshi Kojima, has found singles gold by winning belts belonging to other promotions. Nagata becomes the first New Japan wrestler to win NOAH’s GHC Heavyweight Title and makes his V1 defense against former champion KENTA on 2/22 at Differ.
