Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Naomichi Marufuji is out of the G1 Climax. His 20 minute battle with Kenny Omega on DDT’s Sumo Hall show yesterday led to the NOAH star picking up a right arm injury. New Japan must now find a replacement for Marufuji, be it someone else from NOAH or possibly another outsider like Masato Tanaka. Whoever replaces Marufuji will battle Strong Man (8/6), Anderson (8/7), Makabe (8/8), Nakanishi (8/12), Naito (8/13), Tanahashi (8/14), and Yano (8/15). Perhaps the biggest disappointment of his absence will be the long awaited rematch with Tanahashi from seven years ago.
